The largest energy producer in the Danish North Sea

TotalEnergies has been in Denmark for over 53 years. Over time, we have grown to be a leading energy company providing energy to Denmark and Europe.

Our ambition to be a world-class player in the energy transition drives us to diversify our energy offerings, providing both the renewable and decarbonized energies of the future while continuing to provide the oil and gas needed today and for years to come.

Through our North Sea operations, we ensure energy security efficiently and safely. In Denmark, we focus on oil and gas production while expanding into offshore wind, hybrid power, and other renewable energy sources.

In December 2024, we became owners of two nearshore wind projects, set to deliver 405 MW when they open in five years time.

We are also actively developing leading Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) solutions, capable of storing millions of tons of CO₂. This is a testament to our dedication to sustainable energy and to supporting Denmark in becoming the European hub for CO₂ storage.

Our strategy

Denmark is a great place to be for TotalEnergies. The country has set ambitious climate targets, including a 70% reduction in CO₂ emissions by 2030, and plays a key role in Europe’s energy transition. At the same time, recent geopolitical developments have made it clear that energy policy must also address security of supply, affordability, and resilience. Denmark offers strong interconnections, a robust electricity system, significant wind resources and a strategic position for carbon capture and storage. Just as importantly, Denmark has a long standing tradition for stable and predictable framework conditions, enabling companies like TotalEnergies to make large, long term investments. The DKK 27 billion investment in rebuilding the Tyra field is a clear example. Tyra strengthens Denmark’s and Europe’s energy security while supporting a responsible and balanced energy transition, reflecting the need to reduce carbon emissions while ensuring affordability and security of supply.

TotalEnergies in Denmark supports the Company’s global ambition to contribute to the energy transition by delivering more energy with fewer emissions, together with society.

Our strategy is two-fold: to support Denmark's energy supply and security by fulfilling today's demand whilst building the energy system of tomorrow based on electricity and low-carbon molecules.

We are a multi-energy business producing oil and gas, and at the same time we are expanding in new areas such as CCS to offset emissions and renewable energies such as offshore wind.
