About us
TotalEnergies is Denmark’s leading provider of oil and gas, making an important contribution to the energy security. Through our North Sea operations, we are fully focused on delivering energy in an efficient and safe way.
TotalEnergies Denmark employs 1,200 people in Copenhagen, Esbjerg, and offshore. As operator of the Danish Underground Consortium, TotalEnergies is responsible for 86% of the oil and 89% of the gas produced in Denmark. TotalEnergies is also leading the Bifrost CCS-projects to store millions of tons of CO₂ in depleted oil and gas reservoirs and aquifers in the Danish North Sea. We are transforming our portfolio towards Net Zero: TotalEnergies Denmark is working on expanding and establishing new business activities within offshore wind, solar energy, and other renewable energy sources.

Our role
TotalEnergies Denmark has successfully explored, developed, and produced oil and gas in the Danish North Sea for more than 50 years, playing a pivotal role in the energy transition. As part of our environmental commitment, TotalEnergies is fully committed to the development of the Danish North Sea while actively developing one of the leading Carbon Capture and Storage project, capable of storing millions of tons of CO2, a testament to our dedication to sustainable energy.
As we transition into a multi-energy company, our focus is expanding beyond traditional energy sources. We are investing in a diverse range of energy solutions globally and in Denmark, to meet the changing needs of our society and environment.
We provide local jobs directly and indirectly, contribute to state revenue, and ensure energy security in Denmark today and for decades to come. Our efforts in renewable energy innovation have been significant. In 2022, TotalEnergies was the eighth-highest corporate taxpayer in Denmark and has paid over DKK 40 billion in tax over the past ten years.
