The largest energy producer in the Danish North Sea

TotalEnergies has been in Denmark for over 50 years. Over time, we have grown into a global energy leader.

Our ambition to be a world-class player in the energy transition drives us to diversify our energy offerings, providing both the renewable and decarbonized energies of the future while continuing to provide the oil and gas needed today and for years to come.

Through our North Sea operations, we ensure energy security efficiently and safely. In Denmark, we focus on oil and gas production while expanding into offshore wind, solar, and other renewable energy sources.

In November 2024, we became owners of two nearshore wind projects, set to deliver 405 MW when they open in five years time.

We are also actively developing one of the leading Carbon Capture and Storage project, capable of storing millions of tons of CO, a testament to our dedication to sustainable energy and to supporting Denmark in becoming a hub for European carbon storage.

Our strategy

Denmark is a great place to be for TotalEnergies. The country’s ambitious 70% CO2 reduction target by 2030 strongly drives the energy transition. We benefit from interconnections here; we are strategically located for CCS, have a lot of wind energy and a strong electric grid. More importantly, we have a seat at the table with the Danish government and politicians who listen to our industry.

Our strategy in Denmark is centered around supporting the country's ambitious climate goals and driving the energy transition. We are committed to reducing CO2 emissions by 70% by 2030 and achieving climate neutrality by 2050.

Our efforts include enhancing operational efficiency, optimizing fuel and flaring, and leveraging new technologies and exploring new opportunities such as electrification and carbon capture. Through collaboration with Danish businesses and initiatives like the Climate Partnership Energy & Utilities, we aim to lead in sustainable development.
