The largest producer in the Danish North Sea
TotalEnergies has been present in Denmark for more than 50 years and in that time, we’ve grown into one of the largest energy companies in the world.
Our ambition to be a world-class player in the energy transition drives us to diversify our energy offerings, providing both the renewable and decarbonized energies of the future while continuing to provide the oil and gas needed today and for years to come.
As Denmark’s leading provider of oil and gas, we play a role in ensuring energy security. Through our North Sea operations, we are fully focused on delivering energy in an efficient and safe way.
Our activities in Denmark are primarily related to oil and gas production, but we are working on expanding and establishing new business activities within offshore wind, solar energy, and other renewable energy sources. In November 2024, we became owners of two nearshore wind projects, set to deliver 405 MW when they open in five years time.
We are also actively developing one of the leading Carbon Capture and Storage project, capable of storing millions of tons of CO₂, a testament to our dedication to sustainable energy and to supporting Denmark in becoming a hub for European carbon storage.

TotalEnergies’ presence in Denmark is a testament to our global operations and community engagement. Our locations across Denmark contribute to the local economy and community, while playing a crucial role in our global operations.
We provide local jobs directly and indirectly, contribute to state revenue, and ensure Denmark’s energy security for the future. In 2022, TotalEnergies was the eighth-highest corporate taxpayer in Denmark having paid over DKK 40 billion in tax over the past decade.
Our strategy
Denmark is a great place to be for TotalEnergies. The country has high climate ambitions, with the 70% CO2 reduction target in 2030, that really drives the energy transition. We have a lot of interconnections here – we are strategically located for CCS, have a lot of wind energy and a strong electric grid. No least, we have a seat at the table with the Danish government and politicians who listen to our industry
Country Chair TotalEnergies Denmark
At TotalEnergies, our strategy in Denmark is centered around supporting the country's ambitious climate goals and driving the energy transition. We are committed to reducing CO2 emissions by 70% by 2030 and achieving climate neutrality by 2050. Our approach includes enhancing operational efficiency, optimizing fuel and flaring, and leveraging new technologies and digitalization. We are also exploring new opportunities such as electrification and carbon capture and storage (CCS) to further reduce our environmental impact. By collaborating with Danish businesses and participating in initiatives like the Climate Partnership Energy & Utilities, we aim to lead the way in developing.
